Mechanic - Workshop/Field Service

Employment Type: Full-Time, 7:30am - 4:30pm week days with 30 min lunch break.
Location: Dandenong
Salary: Hourly Rate $38+ to $45+ pending experience

Role Objectives

• To undertake the safe and timely repair, maintenance and preventative maintenance of all hire equipment, vehicles, plant, buildings including portable toilets in a condition suitable for immediate hire.
• To provide quality customer service and public relations.

Key Duties

Mechanical
• Liaise and receive priority job allocations from the Leading Hand/Manager/Senior hire Controller/Transport co-coordinator/Hire controller as applicable to branch.
• Clean and maintain all hire equipment, vehicles, plant and buildings etc by checking, repairing, servicing, fault finding, testing and tagging in accordance with all legislative requirements.
• Maintain a record log of all checks conducted including any electronic monitoring systems allocated to each item of equipment and file accurately ensuring accessibility of documentation and records.
• Blue Tag the returned and checked hire equipment and store in the appropriate area.
• Make requests for all required parts, equipment and resources to complete duties through appropriate procedures and channels within the organisation.
• Assist customers in loading and unloading hire equipment, check trailer lights and connect cables.
• Undertake and conduct quality customer service, answer telephones and take orders when necessary.
Driving and Delivery
• Undertake relief delivery and driving duties within abilities including loading and unloading trucks and trailers with equipment to support transport and operations.

Hours
Normal working hours will be between 7.30am and 4.30pm weekdays, with ½ hour lunch break.

• Basic knowledge of the maintenance and use of all hire equipment.

• Knowledge of Geelong, Melbourne and country Victoria.

Minimum Experience Requirements

• Broad industrial and maintenance experience
• Good mechanical aptitude and experience
• A current Victorian Driver's License
• EWPA Ticket
• Forklift Ticket
• Work Platform ticket
• Ability to use initiative
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Positive attitudes towards fellow employees
Preferred Requirements
• First Aid Certificate including CPR
• Truck endorsed driving licence.

The role is required to behave and perform in accordance with this Position Description 's minimum requirements, follow all reasonable instructions from the role's direct and indirect reports, and follow directions from TBH's Senior Management Team.
