Job Description
This role supports a major infrastructure project in Melbourne, contributing to the delivery of effective community engagement and communication activities that strengthen relationships, enhance reputation, and minimise community opposition.
As the Community Engagement and Communications Administrator, you’ll play an important role in assisting the project team to communicate clearly with local communities, stakeholders, and partners — ensuring the project’s goals and community expectations are aligned.
Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Communications, Stakeholder Engagement and Social Procurement Manager, you will: • Support the implementation of communication and engagement plans to maximise community and stakeholder support and minimise reputational risk. • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with community members, stakeholders, and project partners. • Prepare and distribute communication materials, including newsletters, media releases, project updates, web content, and social media posts. • Assist with event coordination such as community meetings, stakeholder workshops, launches, and exhibitions. • Support the preparation of reports, correspondence, and engagement documentation. • Contribute to social procurement activities by supporting engagement with social enterprises and community partners. • Coordinate the collection and reporting of data for community and stakeholder activities. • Assist in the planning and delivery of initiatives that create positive social impact and enhance local community benefits. • Provide administrative support to the communications and engagement team, including record management and logistics coordination. • Participate in initiatives that promote a safe, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
Key Selection Criteria
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring: • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent attention to detail and organisation. • The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. • Confidence engaging with a wide range of people, including community members, contractors, and local organisations. • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite. • A positive and proactive attitude, with a genuine interest in community engagement and social outcomes. • A current Driver’s Licence.
Desirable: • 1–3 years of experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, or a related office environment. • Experience in administration or document management practices.
