About the Role Due to continued business growth, an opportunity is available for a Safety Trainee to join a civil construction team based at Melbourne Airport. This predominantly site-based role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their career looking to build a pathway in workplace health and safety. Full on-the-job training and development will be provided to help you excel in the position.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure projects operate consistently in line with the Health and Safety Management Plan and Site Safety Plans (e.g. emergency plans, safety management plan and Workplace Risk Assessment)
Report incidents and site-related safety or system issues to the Civil Safety Manager
Ensure actions arising from incidents and non-compliances are effectively implemented
Complete site orientations for all new employees, visitors and delivery drivers
Ensure all employees attending site sign onto the Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) relevant to their tasks
About You
Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
Interest in building a career in workplace health and safety

Requirements
Valid driver's licence
Ability to be on site by 7:00am each day
Willingness to work weekends and occasional night shifts (following health and safety training)
