About the Opportunity An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Research Officer to support workforce planning and workforce insights projects across government and public sector environments. This role combines research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and project coordination to deliver evidence-based workforce insights that inform strategic decision-making. Working closely with industry stakeholders and senior leaders, you will contribute to projects that identify workforce trends, emerging skills needs and future workforce requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to identify workforce trends, challenges and opportunities
Analyse workforce, labour market and industry data from multiple sources to develop meaningful insights
Prepare reports, briefing papers, research summaries and workforce intelligence documentation
Support the planning and delivery of workforce insights projects and strategic initiatives
Facilitate workshops, consultations and stakeholder engagement activities
Engage with government agencies, industry representatives, employee groups and other key stakeholders
Gather, document and validate stakeholder feedback and industry insights
Contribute to project governance, reporting, risk management and project coordination activities
Translate research findings into practical workforce planning recommendations and strategic initiatives
About You
Demonstrated experience in research, policy, workforce planning, workforce analytics, project coordination or a related field
Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
Experience analysing data and presenting findings in a clear and actionable manner
Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities
Experience facilitating workshops, meetings, consultations or presentations
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking skills
Qualifications in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Project Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Experience within government, public sector, education, workforce strategy or consulting environments will be highly regarded
