We are seeking a Water Treatment Operator to operate and maintain a biological leachate treatment plant. You'll have the opportunity to use your initiative to drive changes and upgrades while making meaningful contributions to vital environmental initiatives.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Operate, monitor and maintain the leachate treatment plant

  • Assist the project/process engineers in undertaking improvement and optimisation initiatives

  • Carry out water sampling with a high degree of care to prevent cross contamination

  • Maintain asset integrity by regular inspections, services and testing to ensure maximum uptime

  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure contract and regulatory obligations are met

  • Undertake routine maintenance activities including supervision of work orders and maintaining a spare parts inventor

  • Engaging and supervising contractors for works conducted on sit
     

What you'll need to be successful

  • A proven record of problem solving, diagnosing issues and facilitating repairs 

  • Experience in water treatment operations - preferred but not essential 

  • A working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment and components

  • Previous experience in water sampling and/or testing is highly regarded

  • A willingness to work overtime, weekends and be a part of an ‘on call’ roster if required

  • Forklift experience and licence - preferred but not essential

  • Be able to pass a criminal history check and Department of Defence baseline security clearance.
